About the Designer
For much of the past decade, from New York to Los Angeles, Melissa Pins has been on the cutting edge of the fashion and style industry.

Most recently Melissa has worked for The Oprah Winfrey Show as a stylist on several makeover segments as well as Oprah’s biannual Favorite Things shows. Prior to this, Melissa was Studio Services Supervisor at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills. Here, her stylist and fashion talents were drawn upon for a variety of tasks:

• collaborating with costume designers on television productions such as ER, West Wing, Spin City, Friends, and Will and Grace as well as movie productions like Ocean’s 11, Pearl Harbor, and Minority Report

• dressing stars for events like the OscarsTM and the Grammy AwardsTM

• providing corporate gifting services for the most discriminating talent agencies and production studios in Los Angeles

• coordinating photo shoots with magazine editors for publications such as Vogue, GQ, Town and Country, and the Chicago Tribune, NY Times and LA Times Magazines

Prior to her work in Hollywood, Melissa spent time at a variety of other style-conscious businesses: she served as Merchandising Director for corporate gifting at Wine.com in Napa Valley; she was recruited by the former president of Gap, Inc. to be the Brand Director for Enson, a new children’s apparel brand in San Francisco; and she built online strategies for clothing retailers and cataloguers, including J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, at The E-tailing Group in Chicago.

Even her earliest employment pointed to a career as style and fashion expert.  At Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Melissa helped wardrobe and costume designers dress actors on shows from All My Children to Saturday Night Live, and on big-budget movies like Sabrina and Batman Forever.

Now Melissa brings this wealth of experience to Blue Tux Shoes, a company that gives traditional dyeable shoes a sophisticated, fashion forward makeover at affordable price points.
